i am a guitar player and a huge fan of the group and everyone knew it. before a gentle giant show in philadelphia, pa -usa- a radio station held a call in promotion to win tickets to the show plus a ride in the limo with one of the band. my brother picked up the phone, dialed a number and proceeded to speak as if he had just won. i was laughing because he has such a warped sense of humor and i didn't believe for a second that he had won. until he handed me the phone..! and there i was, tickets in hand in a limo with gary green. what a thrill. the other winner was shy but gary and i talked all the way and he was very gracious and supportive. i used to love to tell people that g.g. is the only band that performs in track shoes! ( no snakeskin boots here thank you ). i still thank my brother every time i see him. sincerely, bruce werner / san francisco
