Here's a picture of my framed mini-handbill/poster for the November 9, 1977 Gentle Giant show at The (Hollywood) Palace right outside Baltimore, Maryland. The opening act was a disco/top-40 band named Source who were booked for a 5-day stint at the club and as they were booked on the Wednesday that Gentle Giant were scheduled to play, I guess they were allowed to open the show. This was a total mistake on the part of club management as the GG crowd were in no mood to hear this type of music first; much less to watch a cover band with a horn section outfitted in matching shiny 1-piece body suits doing their disco dance-steps. I remember it not taking more than a few songs before they were unceremoniously booed off the stage. I must admit to being very vocal myself as a contributor in the "booing." GG were great that night and I remember them having their quad sound system for the show. I recall Ray performing a solo violin piece and having his solo "bouncing" around to the speakers from various corners of the room.
